Milwaukee, Bangor, Savannah, Arizona, Samplers, Friends, Hiking & Baseball

Hello!
I thought that I was caught up there for a brief moment but time has wizzed by so here we are in the middle of June.
From my title you can tell that I have been pretty busy. Are you ready to catch up?
After leaving Pennsylvania it was off to Milwaukee for a Monday event.
Milwaukee looks beautiful from here! I had some trouble with my rental car booking but Roxanne at the National counter in Milwaukee fixed everything for me and greeted me with a hug.
Then there was this little guy to greet me in my room.. Another first that made me smile.
The next morning I remembered that Vickie from a Stitcher's Story was from Wisconsin so with some quick phone calls we arranged to meet up that evening.
Here we are! I was so honored to meet Vickie and her entire family.
She gifted me with this wonderful bookmark that she made...see Beau & Binx? And of course green is my favorite color. Thank you Vickie! I am enjoying using it.
Vickie and I went out to eat at a local place since she knows how much I enjoy doing that and boy was I in for a treat. This is red raspberry custard with fresh red raspberries in it. Yum!
What a wonderful evening Vickie! I hope that we can do it again sometime. Thank You!
I also had the chance to go see a little of Lake Michigan. This lighthouse is gorgeous.
Beautiful!
Thank you Milwaukee for wonderful people, perfect weather and for being so beautiful.
  Next stop...
If you have the chance to visit New England this is a must! It is an amazing exhibit.
Portland, ME samplers.
Canterbury, NH samplers...
The museum will be publishing a catalog for the exhibit and you can contact them to be put on the list. My regret is that I could only spend a short amount of time during my lunch break before heading up 95 to...
I am learning to set up the computers at our new locations and was in Maine to get some more practice.
I also had the chance to catch up with an old friend from High School...
One of my Maine family..
And Paul...
The Bangor classic sandwich..
With this view for lunch. This used to be the lumber capital of the world and this river was filled with schooners and other ships. It must have been incredible to see.
Then it was back to NC for Memorial Day Weekend.
Saturday we went to see the 611. She has just been fully restored and was getting ready to go back home to Roanoke, VA.
What an amazining steam engine!
On Sunday we went up to Eden, NC for an 11 mile canoe trip.
So peaceful!
Apparently Rich and I paddle fast.... I think that I only know one speed. It was lovely day.
   Next stop.. Savannah, GA.
I took an early morning walk...
Beautiful old city...
I was also fortunate to meet up with my friends Karen & Sherry.
I had worked with Karen when I was sent to Hawaii 6 years ago with CVS.
We went to a ball game... The Sand Gnats won! Woohoo! Hopefully they will make it to NC one of these days.
The weekend after Savannah I picked up 2 pieces from the framers. This is Marietta Stebbins. She is a Deerfield, MA reproduction.
This is summer tribute by Stacey Nash. So nice to have them home and on the walls.
   Next stop... Arizona.
I got to revisit Watson Lake in Prescott, AZ. So beautiful!
Sunscreen is my friend... And if I have to have sun screen it might as well have a minion on it....
Cactus bloom.
Hiking in Sabino Canyon in Tucson.
Stitching at the Attic in Mesa, AZ.
Am I lucky or what? I had a wonderful evening stitching with everyone there.
So, I think we are caught up!

Thank you for traveling with me and your friendship!

Chris

Wow, what a post. I do enjoy tagging along on your travels, it's so much fun to see all these great places. What a treat for you and Vickie to meet and spend some time together.
What a great steam engine, my dad used to drive steam trains before the advent of diesel engines. Now of course it's all electric on the lines.

Oh yes, I am always ready to catch up on you and to read about all your travelling adventures and about the people you meet. Maine has been on my list for quite a while now and the pictures you show are really very inviting. This sampler exhibition was a special treat, wasn't it? It's good that you still find the time to stitch a little bit every now and then.
