Hello Friends!
Last Thursday my friend Susan and I headed up the road to Pennsburg, PA for the 3rd Annual Penn Dry Goods Market.
We stopped in Richmond for lunch. I finally found this cool building. We ate at a nice place called Comfort.
So, I had comfort food... A vegetable plate of green beans, squash casserole and mashed potatoes. Yum.
This was the first lecture that I attended. If you ever have the chance to hear Candace speak, take it! Other lectures that I attended were about collecting samplers by Amy Finkle, costumes of The Wizard of Oz, and Westown samplers.
I came home with this sweet ornament from the gift shop. One of my friends stitched it and there are a whole group of samplers from this area that have townscapes.
One of the highlights of the trip was that Lisa from The Inspired Stitcher attended and she recognized me.
Lisa is a wonderful stitcher and I am so thankful to have the chance to spend a little bit of time with her. Hopefully we can do this again next year or I will get to Cincinnati.
Susan and I went by Pottsgrove Manor. We didn't take a tour this year. We just went to the gift shop. It was beautiful, last year when we visited it was pouring so it was nice to walk around the outside of the house.
It was a wonderful weekend. Friends & Samplers, is there anything better?
I hope that your week is off to a great start wherever you may be.
Hugs!
Chris

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the weekend! Isn't Lisa the nicest person? I know her from a long time back when she came to quilting guild and now we meet up at stitching nights. If you ever get to Cincinnati let me know and we'll arrange a get together - lots of great stitchers here with & without blogs.
It looks like a wonderful weekend!
Needlework, friends, good food and shopping doesn't get any better!
