Hello Pennsylvania!

Hello Dear Friends,
Thanks for coming along on this road trip with me and for all your kind comments about our adventures.
Today started back at the little restaurant that we had dinner at. The reason that we went back was this...

Creamed chipped beef. Yum! I don't see this very often in North Carolina.
We then headed to the Chester County Historical Society to see the sampler exhibit.

It was amazing. I am so glad that we didn't miss this. They had beautiful groupings of samplers and display cases of linens, pockets, pinballs and sewing bags.

There were a few people catching the exhibit on it's last day. I saw Jean from The Attic and the owner of Acorns & Threads who I hope to see in a couple of weeks in Portland, OR.
At noon we met up with friends and walked over to the Lincoln Tea Room for a lovely lunch.

What a lovely lunch.

And what a fun group. One of the ladies was a hoot. She " does enjoy a pair of decorated shoes." You have to love someone who goes through life with this philosophy.
Then Susan and I hopped in the car and headed to the Philadelphia Art Museum.

The group of Scottish samplers on display were lovely. They only had 10 samplers out but they were worth seeing. One of them had amazing detail. Two people in the windows of the house, a gravel path in front o the house with little stitches in 2 different colors. I wish I could have taken a picture for you.
The museum was pen late since it was first Friday so we had time to see the American and European collection. Lovely Van Goghs and Monets.
We went out to play on the front steps of the museum.

Those steps that Rocky made famous.

Lovely view.

Then we had a lovely meal at the Granite Hill Restaurant at the museum. I had the warm salmon salad.
Then it was back to the hotel room to get some rest.
What an amazing day!!
I hope that you have a wonderful Saturday. Thanks for joining Susan and I on this trip.

Hugs!

I'm very envious indeed! Didn't realize the exhibit was already closing too. Oh well. As for creamed chipped beef -- mmmmmm. My mom used to make that, and I used to as well. But then I couldn't find the ingredients anymore. I should try again! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Safe travels home!
