Not A Bad Start

Hello Friends!
I hope that everyone is ready to get back to the day to day after the holidays. I am. It has been pretty gloomy and rainy the last couple of weeks is NC. I had a cold over Christmas and have spent too much time at home in my PJs.
It has been nice sleeping in my own bed  next to Rich. I miss the guy. I did quite a bit of cooking. I miss that too.
We did get out for a hike on New Years Day.
We drove up to Hanging Rock State Park. The sun was actually out for a little bit.
Here are a few more views.
It was nice to be out. Now that hunting season is over Rich and I need to get back to our weekend hikes.
Yesterday I joined some friends for lunch and to see the filmed version of this play...
It was excellent, great performances.
I also finished Beggar's Night by Threadwork Primitives.
I started this probably last March. It is so nice to have one project out of my stack of WIPs done. I have Beggar's Fourth kitted up but I am resisting starting it. I need to get Nancy Johnson finished first.
So all in all not a bad start. I am heading to Florida this morning for some meetings. I got an email from my supervisor on Friday saying that my responsibilities will be changing some. Very frustrating. We have been going through a merger and I just want the dust to settle and to move forward.
I am going to see a dear friend while I am in FL that I haven't seen in about 18 years. Woohoo!
Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Chris

Lovely photo of you and Rich. Your finished piece is beautiful and you'll have it ready for Halloween. Sounds like a great start to me.

Glad you are feeling better Chris and that you and Rich were able to get out hiking. I miss that...
Lovely finish on Beggar. I've gotten some stitching done over the weekend, but it is slow going. Good luck with the work situation...frustrating, I know. And, safe travels!!

Your new year's hike must have been wonderful, landscape, weather, everything at its best. And so nice for you that you could have a stitching finish. What a nice design.
I hope that this year won't be frustrating at your job and that you will find enough time for hiking and stitching and cooking.

Travel safely and have as good a time as work permits in FL. Sorry about the chaos at work-- I totally understand, my company is forever (and ever) buying companies so every few months there's shuffling.... I hate every moment of it. Sigh.

Congrats on the beautiful hike and the fresh finish.

I bought my husband the Wainwright Walks books for Christmas which are about all the walks in the Lake District here in the UK. I am hoping we will be able to get out as a family a bit more. Nice to see you are feeling brighter. Love your stitchy finish. x

Great pic of you and Rich! The countryside looks amazing! Love the new finish. Those designs are so sweet. I will have to look for that movie here, I am a big Bill Nighy fan. Enjoy your time in Florida!

What a lovely picture...must have been refreshing hiking after the holidays and being cooped up. Getting antsy to go on our first snowmobile ride. This will help with the long winters. It's sooooo cold right now it's hard to be motivated beyond the front of the fireplace. Must have been a cat in my previous life. Haha.
