What Day of the Month Is It?

Hello!
Can you believe that we are headed into the end of June and that the 4th of July is just around the corner? How did that happen? I have had a hard time keeping up with what date it is.
This morning I am sitting at the airport on my way to Pittsburgh and tomorrow I will be on my way to Wichita. If any of you know some things to do or see in Wichita please let me know. I am going to be spending some time there.
Do you want to see some of the places that I have been?

This is the McKinley National Monument in Canton, OH. What a lovely place to walk in the morning. The steps provide quite a workout.
This is the Fredricksburg Battlefield in Fredricksburg, VA. This was a civil war battle where you can clearly imagine. Where the armies were positioned.
  Last week was New Orleans....
I had some wonderful charbroiled oysters.
I am managing to travel with my backpack and my carry on suitcase.
Hopefully I will be a pro soon.
I did finally put a couple of stitches in yesterday.
I am trying to finish her before I start any new projects. My goal this week is to stitch some on my travel projects and get caught up on my blog reading. I know that you all have been up to some wonderful things!
I miss you guys.

Well, I have to get on my flight.
Have a wonderful week!

Chris

Safe travels. I have visited that Battlefield in Va many years ago. My cousin lived near there.
Funny cause I grew up in Cleveland Ohio and I have never been to the McKinley Monument. Next time I am home though I think I will. I wonder if I run up the steps will I hear the theme song to ROCKY play LOL
Have a great day!

Hi Chris! Hope you are getting some rest, too. And, hope this new job agrees with you. Ive done a minimal amount of stitching...have suddenly become hooked on "House of Cards" (and I don't normally watch TV!!!). I ican't stitch and watch TV at the same time (or walk and chew gum...). Safe travels and stay well.

Your Nancy sampler is looking good! It sounds like you have seen some interesting places. Those steps do look like they give a good workout.

Hi Chris: What a lovely stitch, I am doing what you are doing finishing things I have started before I start a new project.
I do belong to a Round Robin so that is the only new projects I can start for now.
Safe travels to you.
If you ever get to Minnesota let me know.

I lived in Wichita for 12 years...you MUST go to Heart's Desire stitch shop. On East Douglas ave. Tell Debbie PJ from Maine sent you. It is a lovely shop with the loveliest ladies ever. The Sedgwick County Zoo is amazing if you have the time. You definitely need to visit the Keeper of The Plains at the Indian Cultural Center. You just missed Riverfest. :( Old Town has some really neat restaurants near the Warren Movie theater. Tons of restaurants everywhere. If you want to bring a little Midwest home with you Sheplers is a great Western Wear store. Cow Town is a quaint historical village close by and the have a smaller native wildlife zoo in the Central Park. I could go on.... Enjoy!

I hope you are enjoying your new traveling life. Lots of lovely sites! I like your stitching as well. I've only been to Wichita once and that was years ago, so I won't be any help there, I'm afraid. Safe travels!

Great pics of places you've been.
Hope you like the traveling part of your job venture.
Nancy is looking good.
I second Heart's Desire.
My best friend swears by that shop.
Have a safe trip.

Hey!
I learned of a new (to me) free app that finds needle related shops. Search for NeedleTravel at the app store.

Wow, doing all the travelling around is so different from what you were doing before. You get to see so many new places. What a change of life this is for you. I have the impression that you are already a pro, lol.
Thanks for sharing all the pictures. And very nice progress on your stitching.

At least you are traveling to a wide variety of locales, Chris, and getting to see a bit of history in each location. Is there a chance you'll be sent to Hawaii? Ha ha :)

We miss you, too! Hope you're not too worn out from your new lifestyle...

Very pretty stitch. I live about 30 miles south of Fredericksburg and have not been to the battlefield yet. I do drive past the visitor's center every morning on the way to the train.
