The Sum Total of Last Weeks Stitching

See the 9? That is it. Pretty sad. I  hoping for a little more this week.
So what is the problem? I have not been sleeping that great. I still have a little cough.
I worked at the independent drug store on Saturday and this was the staff parking area. We have our own mini club.  2 of my coworkers have bought minis in the last 2 months.
I have house guests tonight and for a couple of days next week, so I had to get my guest room in order and do some deeper cleaning and dusting that I have been avoiding recently.
It is always nice when it is done and everything is sparkly.
Then last Tuesday my phone rang at work and I was asked if I could go to Louisiana this week... No I am going to PA for the Penn Dry Goods Market. Wednesday the phone rings and they have a position that they thought of me for doing new store sets and training. So lots of other phone calls and miscommunications later I have accepted the position. It requires 60 to 80% of my time on the road an it starts May 27th. It was a tough decision to make. I have no other avenues of advancement available so I am going to do it.
There are a lot of personal challenges for me doing this...Rich, exersizing, eating right....
So right now my schedule is looking like I will be in Lake Charles, LA the week after Memorial Day, Canton, OH the next week then Fredricksburg, VA and then Pittsburgh. So maybe I can see some of you if I am in your town.

I received a surprise RAK from Catherine at I Love To Stitch Blog. A sweet ort container design with some wonderful sparkly fabric. Catherine does amazing stitching and wool  pieces. I am so glad that we have become friends. Thank you!
My Mom came over on Sunday. I made summer salads and smoked trout spread with some pumpernickel for lunch.
After lunch we watched Saving Mr. Banks. It was so good but sad. Emma Thompson is an amazing actress.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope that everyone has a great week!

Chris

Good luck with your new position. I hope the traveling agrees with you and you enjoy it. Sorry you haven't had time for stitching -- such a bummer. Love the Mini club! lol! Still dreaming of getting one someday. Your Mother's Day meal looks delicious! So do you have to skip the Penn Dry Goods Market? (Hate deep cleaning....)

Congrats on the new job. Sounds like a good way to scout out some new cross stitch shops too. ;-)

I love the color combo on your sampler. The grey/silvers and gold look great together.

Good luck to you on your new position! It sounds exciting and very adventurous. Hope you meet lots of new people during your travels. Don't feel bad about your stitching. I think I only managed 30 stitches all of last week. definitely need to find the time to make some progress. Yummy looking lunch for mothers day!

Sounds like a lot of change ahead Chris, I wish you well. I've just recently changed from a Mini Countryman All 4 to a Mini Paceman All 4. I've had a Mini in some form for years now and used to drive one of the very old originals when I first passed my test all those years ago.

Congratulations Chris on your new position, it is sometimes hard to make a transition but in the long run a very good choice.
The lunch looks so yummy I love cooking for my Mother, she is like me very adverterous when it comes to food.
I think your 9 looks good, any stitching is good even if for only a few minutes each day.
I am so glad you like what I sent, thank-you for your kind words.

Blessings

Catherine

A promotion--how exciting, Chris! Traveling so much can be both good and bad, but maybe Rich can join you on some of your trips... Luckily, you seem to really enjoy traveling so that is a big plus. Anyway--congratulations and I hope it works out for you :) Let me know when you're in Pittsburgh--maybe I'll be around this time!

Enjoy your weekend!

Good luck with the new role, I hope it works out for you.

Like you 'mini' Mini club, mine is ten years old now and starting to show it's age but we're hoping to keep it on the road a bit longer yet.

I don't know whether to say congrats or sorry on the new job!! =) Traveling that much can be exhausting...hopefully you can stay at some good hotels that have good fitness centers and nearby healthy eating options. The constant eating out was the most difficult thing for me when I was consulting out of town every week.
