She is the owner/creator of Weeks Dye Works located in Garner, NC.
I haven't had the chance to see her in about 8 years. It has probably been that long since I have been down to Garner to see her. In that time her business has expanded to fill this whole building instead of one or 2 of the suites. She had grown the business by doing hand dyed wool and linens. And she has had 2 children since I last saw her. There was a lot to catch up on.
It is so great to talk with someone about something you love. It gets you excited about stitching. We talked about the dying process, where the wool comes from, the Lizzie Kate mystery sampler and the upcoming Blue Ribbon Designs mystery, trade shows, the zoo, Sophie, Morris, Sally & Michael, etc.
It was wonderful to talk to her staff, the dyers and the the staff that fill the orders. Miranda started the business by dying floss in Rubbermaid container in her bathtub. I saw chestnut floss being dyed while I was there and all I can say is wow!
I am going to finish with one last picture.
Thanks Miranda for all you for for the stitching community.
