Misfit Stitching, PT Boats & Paul

Hello Friends!
I hope that the 1st of October was good for you. Here in Portland the weather has been exceptionally fine. This is no rain in the forecast for the next week.

We had the opportunity to tour one of the last remaining and only running WW II PT boats today. Somehow Rich found the information and set up a chance for us to view the boat.

What an amazing chance to see some history.
Afterwards it was off in search of Paul Bunyan. There are 6 or 7 Paul statues in the US.

Here is Portlands.

I think Bangor's is more handsome. This is a pic from my trip there last November.
The others are in Minnesota.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the World Forestry Center. They had a lot of interesting exhibits.
Now for the misfit stitching...

I did not have enough of the dark purple to finish stitching the pennant. And then I lost the other button. Aargh!! I should have had a finish. I am going to send a email off to Bent Creek to see if they can help me out. Doesn't my snowman look like it should be on the island of misfit toys?

Tonight is an early night so we can recharge for some more adventures.

Sweet Dreams!

I think your snowman is just darling! I hope you can get the matching button, or maybe you can just switch it out for two others. I love those misfit toys! When Rudolf flies in to pick them up on Christmas Eve, my eyes always get watery! Sometimes I think I'll just never grow up!...Love those Paul Bunyans! xo
