Slub Wars

I have been stitching along on Marietta...la, la, la...

Do you see that big nasty one! Is that where I have to stitch over one?!?? #^*+!

See that one!?!

Arrrgh! Oh well, I guess that thy add some character.
Do you check you linen for these before you start stitching?

I am making pretty good progress. Not much left before I start the over 1 motifs.

Thanks as always for all your kind comments and stopping by to say hello.

Oh wow, Chris - she is gorgeous! I love the flying birds and the border and the baskets - yummy!

Oh I hate those slubs for sure. They are such a pain! You just have to hope they don't land in bad places, don't you? Marietta looks great though!

Oh yes, I do hate those slubs too! They always show up just where you'd rather not have to deal with them. LOL! Looks great in spite of them. :)

Very nice progress! I hate those little slubs too, they are always in the wrong place!

If it's really in a bad place, I use the needle to pick off the fuzzy fibers. Most of the time the thread stays intact and the slub is gone or reduced. A few times I went too far and replaced a few inches by weaving another thread that I took from the edge. Excellent progress!

It looks pretty good , though that's why I'm not so keen on linen .

I think you're making great progress, Chris, slubs and all... With samplers like yours, I just think they add character and authenticity to the piece :)

That is a big one! Your sampler is coming along despite the little detour. Keep up the great work.

That's one of the reasons why I don't stitching on linen. Those slubs are annoying.

Your project looks good, though.

Don't you just hate that? I never check mine though. :-P

Oh, that is indeed a big slub. I don't mind them too much though. I think that's what linen is all about. Acts character to the piece and yours is certainly looking real pretty ^.^

Hugs,
Veronica.

You're making great progress. I never check my linen before I start stitching but really should.

Slubby linen is a pain but if I'm being honest it doesn't take away from your stitching, it looks just fine.

Urgh what a nasty slub! No I don't usually check my linen but then I tend to lean towards evenweave first.

Oh, that is a big one! Sometimes when they are that big, I try to pick some of the fiber away ~ very carefully though! I tend to look at it as the character of stitching on linen.

Marietta is looking really good. I think the slubs add character to your piece even though they seem to show up in the worse possible place. Believe me, I've been there!!! LOL!
