April Ornament Finish

Hello Friends!
I hope that your Saturday was wonderful. I headed up the road to Greensboro for the 2nd meeting of our Sampler Group. I had scurried around Friday night to gather together my information on Carolina Samplers . There were 7 of us and we had a really nice morning followed by lunch at a local deli. We decided on our June field trip so we have another great day to look forward too.
After sampler group I ran some errands in town. I went to Kohl's but I didn't find anything. I have been dieting and doing Zumba so I have lost some weight but I think I will wait longer to buy any new clothes.

I stopped by my Mom's and saw this beauty. Her yard looks so pretty right now.

Rich was doing yard work when I got home.

He cleaned the paths.

Here is one of my peonies.

Now onto some stitching. Last night I did the finishing on the April ornament for the Christmas All Year Long SAL.

This the Rosewood Manor's 2007 JCS ornament. The blending filament in this piece doesn't show up in the picture.

I have had this fabric in my stash for awhile. I think it I perfect for this ornament.

May's assignment is a gingerbread person and I am having a hard time finding something. Any suggestions?

I want to say welcome to my new followers. And to all, thank you for your kind comments.

Have a great Sunday.

Chris

You are so lucky to have a group of stitchers, sampler stitchers, at that, to meet with! Congrats on the weight loss. Isn't that the way; when you are ready to buy new clothes, you can't find anything you like!

Lovely ornanment and finish! You are right, the backing fabric is perfect!

By the way, what is the name of the pinkish-purple bell-shaped flower? It's so pretty!

I love the iris from your mom's yard - it's a beautiful colour, kind of black? As you know I'm a bit partial to irises! ;0)

I've stitched the following gingerbread freebie many times over and I still love it.

Congratulations on the weight loss/fitness regime. I wish I had your willpower!

Lovely job on your ornament! That is such a pretty fabric that you chose to finish it with.
I'm afraid I can't help you with the gingerbread issue. I checked my freebies and I don't have one gingerbread man among them.

What beautiful flowers you have blooming! Love your new ornament finish. I remember seeing a gingerbread man in one of the JCS mags, but I don't remember which one. Have a great week!

I love all the garden photos, Chris! Your peony looks fabulous and your mom's dark blue/purple iris (?) is breath-taking.
Your ornie is fabulous too - way to go! :-)

That iris is unbelievable!! I wish I could help with the gingerbread man. I stitched a really cute one (http://www.lottloft.com/needlework/images/gingerbreadMan.jpg) once...I know it was a Waxing Moon freebie, but I borrowed the chart, so I don't have it any more. I didn't see it on their website, either, but maybe someone somewhere has it!!
