Penn Dry Goods Market

What a great time I had at the Market. This is the second year for this event and I enjoyed it so much. They had Margariet Hogue from The Essamplaire. She taught a class on Thursday that I was not able to sign up for.
I did sign up for 5 lectures. I heard Kathy Staples, Linda Eaton and Lynn Tinley lecture on different topics. The lectures were wonderful, I don't think that I could pick a favorite.
There were wonderful antique dealers too.
So many treasures. I did not purchase anything since I might be getting a new AC system at home.
There were wonderful things on exhibit from the collection of the Schwenkfelder Library.
The last 2 pictures are all from one family. Aren't they gorgeous?
Friday night we went to a big pizza party with our friends.
  Then for lunch on Saturday....
And here is my piece of pie..
Yum!

On Saturday after the event Susan and I went to our friends house before going to dinner. These 3 samplers are from the same Berks County, PA family. Can you see similar elements? The one on the left I spotted on eBay last year. I am so glad that my friend was able to add it to her collection.
This friend gifted me with a small stitched chicken(inside joke having to do with the Mary Chicken Sampler in the collection of  Williamsburg).
Another yummy dinner on Saturday.
I better get back on my diet!

I hope to see some of you at this show next year.

Thanks for traveling with me!

Chris

You showed AMAZING restraint. I would not have been able to resist buying something, probably a LOT of somethings. I love Shaker designs.

How was the Shoo-fly pie. Looks like maybe you had the wet bottom kind.

This show looks like it was amazing. I would have been walking around drooling over all those wonderful samplers. Thanks for the pictures. Hope the AC isn't too big an expense - I hate spending money on such frivolous things as heating and cooling - LOL - no I really like being comfortable at home but it isn't as much fun as spending money on stitching stuff.

Looks wonderful! Too bad you couldn't take the Margriet Hogue class. Or buy anything. But the AC system is worth it, right?

So glad someone took pictures -- I had my camera and totally forgot to use it! This is my second year attending the Penn Dry Goods Market and this year did not disappoint. Loved all of the lectures I attended. The vendors were great but sure had some pricey goods. I did succomb to one small sampler. Barbara
