If you like the Manor's Facebook page you can look at the exhibit. Throughout the house they had mannequins dressed in 17th century clothing. They did an amazing job recreating the clothing and they represented all the different people that lived on the property, the family and their children, slaves, house staff and iron furnace workers. I loved that some of the women figures had pinballs hanging from thieir waist and a pin cushion/scissor holder.
The original was also in the exhibit and they had a kit so it came home with me. The exhibit also had 3 rooms of original clothing. It is so amazing to see these survivors, tiny baby clothes, men's breeches and shirts, corsets and dresses. The curator Amy gave us a wonderful tour. Thank You!
If you are in the Philadelphia area the exhibit is running through the end of November and is definitely with seeing.
Thanks for traveling with me!
Have a great weekend!
Chris

Gorgeous house! It's it amazing the details that went into clothing in simpler times vs how simple our clothes are now in these times of advancement. I am sure it was a wonderful exhibit.
Wow the house is so sweet

Wow! Looks wonderful! Love the kit that came home with you too!
Really enjoyed the virtual trip to Pottstown since I live so far away. Thanks for inviting me along! Looks like you have a cool new kit.
And the clothing was small too - people used to be shorter and did not weight nearly as much as we do now. So much history in your part of the USA!
Can you imagine going through the summer heat and humidity in all that clothing???? Yowza.
What a beautiful old building. There are many homes like that in my hometowns of Abington and Hatboro.
A lovely new kit you bought.
