Taking Care of My Guy

Hello Friends!
Thank you so much for the well wishes for my Mom's situation. Rich spent today up there continuing to cut up trees that are down, taking the bricks off the roof from the chimney that came down, and anchoring tarps on the roof. Hopefully her power will be back on tomorrow and the insurance adjuster will be out on Tuesday.
Rich's birthday is this upcoming week so I was planning on making Bannofee pie for him but since he worked so hard today...

I made it today...

The hardest part is boiling the condensed milk for the caramel. I used my crockpot to cook it.

Looks pretty good...

Rich was happy. I will have to do something else for his birthday on Thursday... Maybe Carvel.
I made some progress on Beggar's Night.

I hope that the upcoming week is a good one. I have really been on a funk over everything.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Chris

That looks so good. how nice of him to help your mom. Some families never help each other. He is a special person. So glad you made that for him.

I've never heard of Banofee Pie so I had to look it up. How sweet of your husband to spend his weekend helping your mom. My husband is the same way, devoting countless hours to my family (especially my kids from a prior marriage) when they need him.

The weather you guys have had is enough to put anyone in a funk! That pie looks wonderful and I love the Beggar's Night. I have often thought about doing that one.

How sweet your hubby is. I hope your mom gets her power back soon. Guess who will be looking up a recipe and needing to size up again. Rocky (my raccoon) will not be getting the extra bananas any more.

I hope everything gets straightened out at your Mom's. Trees can do a lot of damage and are a lot of hard work to get rid of.
I am going to check out your recipe.
Wow! I can see the crow. Great progress.

Good going on spoiling your guy. He definitely deserves it! Love your stitching too. I've been feeling in a funk too. Maybe it's this long winter.

I hope there will be a good outcome with the insurance for your mom. And that she will have power back very soon.
So sweet of your husband to help her with all this stuff. You were doing great spoiling him with this pie - which looks sooo delicious.
You are rather fast on Beggar's Night. Great progress!

How wonderful of you to make the pie for your hubby now. And what a blessing rich is to your mom. I have not heard of this pie before. And I have lots of bananas that need to be used. I too will make the caramel in the crockpot. thanks Chris!
Now cheer up the sun is coming out just for you:))

So sorry to hear about your mom's house. Hope the insurance gets it repaired quickly. Beggar's Night is coming along well and looks great! The pie looks really yummy! I will celebrate along with Rich on Thursday because we evidently share a birthday!

Hope things continue to progress well. Looked for the recipe, and there are lots! How long did you cook the milk in the crock pot? Would you share the recipe you use?

BN is looking lovely as does the pie... yum yum.
I hope the insurers were able to put mums mind to rest about the repairs and it wont be too long before she is back to normal again.

I am doing some catch-up reading. Sorry to see and read about your mom's place. You guys are a gift to her to help like you have. Hope your funk is lifting. It's no fun to be in that place.

Do hope things are looking up at your Mom's. I have only had to deal with downed trees once, fortunately no property damage, but nothing to that degree. The pie looks interesting - my husband would love it. Beggar's Night is looking great.
