This book was published last year about these beautiful samplers from Norfolk, England.
The layout of the samplers and certain motifs make Norfolk samplers easy to identify.
I was fortunate to hear a lecture by the author last years at the Penn Dry Goods Market.
These are my recent Nashville market purchases. They are limited edition kits by Louise Henderson of Cherished Stitches. They are inspired by the Norfolk samplers. I love them! The kits come with the everything to stitch and finish the piece except for the stuffing. I am looking forward to stitching them. Look for these kits at your local needlework store.
The Penn Dry Goods Market is the 3rd weekend in May this year. It is held at the Schwenkfelder Library in Pennsburg, PA. There is a great group of lectures and a class with Margariet Hogue of the Essamplaire. I hope that I will see some of you there. Check out the website!
I have made a little bit of progress on my LHN piece.
That is it for my Monday.
I hope that your week is off to a great start.

That would be lovely to meet Margriet Hogue in person and take a class from her. Lucky you!

Your LHN piece is lovely and can't wait to see your Norfolk samplers now that I am following you! I found your blog through Jo's.
That is bizaar...I was born and bred in Norfolk UK and am related to Nelson via one of his many brothers..and yet I knew nothing about Norfolk samplers. Thank you for this post..def. something to go and learn about.
Nice stash additions! The LHN is looking good!

I couldn't believe it when I clicked on your blog today and saw the first photo. That very book arrived in my mail today - I ordered it yesterday from The Sampler Guild. It looks a delightful book and I love the charted sampler included. The Essamplaire is a wonderful source of samplers - I've bought a few of their kits over the years.
Nice stash enhancement, and pretty progress, too!
Love your new stash additions, such wonderful colors.
Guess what .... I'm off to Norfolk in a few weeks for a little spring break!
It must have been so interesting to read and hear about the Norfolk samplers. And your two new kits look very promising. I'm sure you will enjoy stitching them.
Really nice Chris. I am sure you will enjoy your next trip.
I have been eyeing Spring Garden ( it has a bunny...need I say more?)
