From Snow on Wednesday to 66 On Sunday

This weather is so crazy. Today we are supposed to have thunderstorms and actually rain most of this week. At least it is not snow.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I got my errands out of the way on Saturday so I was able to spend some time catching up on some stitching and sleep.
Sunday after getting dinner prepped and into the crockpot Rich and I headed out for a hike.

It was a little bit misty and cloudy when we started out. Fortunately it burned off.

The scene of the crime... a bird was obviously taken by a hawk.

A marker of an old homestead(1780) that we haven't seen before.

Another tree face. This hike turned out to be about 10 miles. Instead of doing an up and back at our normal trailhead we drove up to one of the other trailheads and hiked back over towards our house. There is a 7 mile route or the 10 mile version. My legs were a little tired.
Here is dinner. This is one pot dinner beans from the Tasty Kitchen. It has ground beef, baked beans, kidney beans, lima beans so it is more like chili but it is on the sweet side like baked beans. Rich was not sure that he would like this due to all those beans but decided it was really good. The recipe as posted is too large for a normal size crockpot. You need to do half the recipe. I will be making this again.

Here is my progress on Summer Tribute.

I got all if the lawn filled in now I have to finish the border, add some initials and an acorn motif and she will be done!
I watched 3 quarters of the Super Bowl. Great job Seahawks!
The week ahead looks busy. My desk at work is piled up. I have dinner with friends on Thursday, and Friday and the sampler guild meets on Saturday.
Thanks for catching up with me. Thanks as always for your kind comments.

Happy Monday!

Chris

Sigh. Everything, just everything is covered in snow here for a very, very long time. Nice to see your hike. =)

That was quite a hike! We did 6-1/2 miles on flat terrain and I was BEAT!

Congrats on so much walking. You know even if your legs were tired, you did good for your health.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend with lots of pleasant things that you were doing. Stithcing and cooking and being out hiking seems to be a good combination. I hope your week isn't too strenuous.

Sounds like a perfect day to me!
I love your Summer Tribute sampler. I have that one in my stash and have contemplated it for this year. I love seeing yours!
I hope all is well.

Great pictures. Love the tree face. Summer Tribute is looking great and I'm cheering you on to a finish. Your bean dinner is a favorite of mine but I switch out black beans for the limas (they are second on my list of least favorite foods - I was actually pretty good at swallowing them whole when I was a kid). LOL!!
