A Snow Day

Hello!
I know that snow is a dirty word in many places since other parts of the US are seeing record snowfalls. This storm made a mess out of Atlanta too. I hope that things are starting to return to normal there. Schools here are still canceled tomorrow.

When I left work Tuesday afternoon it was snowing in Greensboro but did not start snowing in Asheboro until later. Rich left to go to work at 5 this morning and came back after going about 6 miles as it was very slippery and touching your brakes made the car slide. Since we both have close to an hour commute to work we stayed home.

Rich in action later in the afternoon. The temperature did not get above freezing. It was sunny so hopefully once I get to the main roads in the morning there won't be a problem getting to work.

The birds were very busy looking for food. I love the quiet and stillness of a snow storm and a snow day.
I was able to get some more done on Summer Tribute. There is a lot of lawn left to stitch, the rest of the border and some initials. I hope to have a finish soon!

I hope that you are safe and warm wherever you may be!

As always thanks for stopping by.

Chris

Snow Days are so much fun. That is if you are at home. I felt so sorry for the children and teachers that were stuck in the schools or worse on a school bus. Stay Warm!

I'm glad you both stayed at home in the nasty weather you were having. Hope the commute is ok in the morning. Love your stitching!

I showed Iris your snow photos Chris because she is desperate for us to get snow! Summer tribute is looking great. I love the scissor motifs.

I am safe, but far from warm. It has been damp and chilly all day and the heater just doesn't seem to reach all the corners of the house. LOL (But, I know I really have nothing to complain about ....we have NO snow.)

Your stitching project is just gorgeous. That is one good thing about cold weather ---- plenty of good stitching time!

Happy stitching!

We had a snow day here, too, and a delay this morning. It's nice once or twice, but wouldn't want to live in it constantly.

You and Rich were smart to stay home, Chris! Glad you had a snow day--that sampler is looking prettier and prettier :)

Clearly staying home was the super smart thing to do. I can't imagine spending the night on the interstate in my car.

Summer Tribute is looking great!

I was so inspired by your sampler that I bought the pattern and some floss and started it tonight. I love it. Glad you stayed safe during the storm.

Glad you were both able to stay home through that last storm. It wasn't bad here, but I didn't have to go out! Very nice progress on Summer.

What an absurd situation - you are having a winter like rarely before, and we are too, just the other way round. We used to have snow from December to March at least, but the only real snow this winter came down in November but melted at the beginning of December. Only last week it snowed a little bit but just a little bit. An higher temperatures are announced for next week. Very unusual. I hope that the roads will be cleared soon at your place.

The snow was pretty wasn't it Chris? I just wish there was more of it. Summer Tribute is coming along nicely. Enjoy your weekend.
