1st TUSAL of 2014 & A Peaceful Start To The New Year

Hello Friends, both old and new.

I am already late on the first TUSAL of the year. I had to picks jar for this year's orts,

then I had to stitch some so that there were some orts in the jar...

Can you see them? My jar is pretty large this year. I better get some stitching done so that I can fill it up! One of my goals for 2014 is to stitch more!

Here is my Summer Tribute progress.
New Year's Eve was quiet. Rich and I were both in bed asleep before the new year.
We went for a hike yesterday. Instead of going on our normal route we headed to Morrow Mountain State Park. We were trying to avoid zealous hunters out on the last day of deer season.

There were pretty views from the top.

This looks like snow doesn't it? It is actually quartz. Where there is quartz there is gold and some of the 1st gold mines in the US were in this area.

Some funky moss, I love the greens and the different textures.

Binx looks content doesn't he?

Wishing you a great rest of the week!

Peace.

That's a great big jar and it looks very promising. In order to fill it you have to stitch some and then you'll show it here on your blog. And you already made a good start on your summer sampler. I always love to see thsi one.

That's a beautiful jar! Wishing you lots of stitching time this year! And I look forward to following you on your adventures too. :) Binx does look very content. I would love to get something like this for our cats, but they don't share and it would probably be a continuous battle for the top spot. :)

A beautiful jar. I'm sure it will start filling up in no time at all. A lovely progress photo of your WIP.

Beautiful ORT jar! I've given up on the TUSAL this year. I didn't do a good job last year, so I thought I would just bow out. Love seeing your Summer Tribute progress. Lovely pics from the hike too!

Lovely progress on your sampler, Chris! We had a quiet New Year's Eve, too--barely made it up to midnight...

Hope your new year is filled with lots of pretty stitching and beautiful hiking paths :)
