Piedmont Heritage Sampler Guild Outing

On Saturday I headed up to Old Salem, NC to meet up with some of the other members of the sampler guild to see an exhibit of needlework at the Blum House.

We were not allowed to take pictures of the exhibit. I was able to visit with the original Christina Spach sampler. Here is my reproduction of her.

After viewing the exhibit we walked down the street to do a little shopping. These benches were on the side of one of the shops.

These felt garlands took my fancy and looked like they would be easy to make.

After shopping we headed to the Tavern for lunch.

The Tavern serves traditional meals like Moravian Chicken Pie. Traditional desserts like gingerbread or syllabub. What a great day, needlework, good food and great friends.
The exhibit at Old Salem will be up until August 10, 2014. So if you are in the area make sure that you stop by to see it.
You can check out the guild at The Piedmont Heritage Sampler Guild Blog. There are no dues to become a member. We have a great slate of programs next year.
Please join us for a meeting if there is something that interests you.

I also saw this at the Visitor Center....hmm...

You never know what you will see when you are out and about.

Cheers!

Oh, how wonderful, such a get-together of stitching friends. You all certainly had a great time and saw a great exhibition, too.
I was just going through all your recent posts and saw that you celebrated your birthday. So let me send you some belated birthday wishes! And have fun with the gifts that you received.
