The Granite Dells

Hello Friends!
Thanks for the kind words and concerns about my travels. The Grand Canyon is close due to the federal government shutdown. There is no access and the lodge where we were to stay was within the park. I hope that the budget resolution is resolved soon and all the government employees can go back to work. I think that congress should be punished and docked pay too!
So this morning Rich and I headed over to the Watson Lake recreation area in Prescott.

Here is where we started our hike.

The trail and terrain is so different than what we have back home.

Look at this amazing place.

So beautiful!

Very rocky and some scrambling involved in the hike.

But so worth it!
After the hike we drove back down the road to Phoenix to catch a peek at these. There are some Dodge M-37s up there. Unfortunately we couldn't get any closer.

Then we stopped at Humboldt at this little museum. The volunteers were so happy to see is and to tell us about this amazing area.

Rich and I headed into Prescott for dinner and had some wonderful pizza at Bill's Pizza.

I put a few stitches into Margaret.

But now it is bedtime. We want to get a quick hike in in the morning before packing up and moving on to our next stop.

Have a wonderful weekend!

If you have time tomorrow head on down to Mesa. To the attic needlework. You won't want to miss it.

It does look like a lovely part of the country Chris! I have a friend who has been transplanted to Phoenix for the next six months due to a work project. I know she is enjoying the area very much.
Is there a trip to The Attic planned during your travels?
Beautiful pictures!
