There is no stitching to report here but if you want to join me on more of my Arizona trip please read on.
Saturday morning we got up bright and early to hike Thumb Butte near Prescott. This areas parking lots were also closed due to the federal government closures but we had driven by the day before and saw where people were parking.
When we got their it was in the 30's and the higher that you go up the colder it gets.
The views were well worth the climb.
Then we headed over to another recreational area near the hotel. This trail kept going up!
We say this little guy on our way back down. He is so well camouflaged. He is a horny toad.
After the 2 hikes we checked out of our hotel and started driving towards Sedona.
We stopped in Jerome, which is this funky town perched on a mountainside.
It was a mining town but now is more artists, stores and bars. 89A is a very twisty highway so this destination is very popular with bikers and driving clubs.
It was fun to walk around.
Can you tell how high the elevation is?
There were lovely steps heading from one street up the mountain down to the next one.
Our final destination yesterday was Sedona. The pictures don't do justice to these beautiful red rocks.
This is the view from the balcony on our hotel.
More of Bell Rock which is off in the distance.
Gorgeous!
So Sunday will be spent exploring this beautiful place.
Thanks for traveling with me!
Hugs!

Your trip is reminding me of a trip we took several years ago to Arizona,Flagstaff to be more precise. It is so pretty and the red rocks are beautiful. I loved Sedona. I'm glad you are having such a good time in spite of the dumb government!
So beautiful! It's always amazing to be in that area of the country. So so different and exotic and beautiful!

What a wonderful trip! I'm sorry that the Grand Canyon was spoiled for you. Good for you for continuing on, and finding something new to explore. I've been curious about Jerome. It looks like a fun town, and so does Sedona!
Be safe, and keep enjoying.
