RAK From Shirlee

Hello Friends,
I stopped at the post office on my way home from work yesterday and inside the mailbox was a surprise from Shirlee aka the Easily Influenced Stitcher.

Binx had to help me open the package.

Look at this fabulous pin cushion. I love it.

Lovely backing fabric. Thank you Shirlee!
After happy dancing around the house with my pincushion and finding the perfect place to display it, Rich and I had dinner.

See why I love these dishes?
Later in the evening I tried a new recipe. You slice and freeze bananas.

Then put them in the food processor and chop them up until it turns into something the consistency of soft serve ice cream.

We added some peanut butter and cocoa powder and ran the food processor some more.

And you end up with this. It was pretty yummy. I think next time I will try some vanilla and cinnamon .
I always have bananas in the house and make a loaf of banana brea once a week but this was another great way to use those bananas that are a little too ripe for Rich to eat.

Well I am going to bed. I have had 3 mentally exhausting day at work.
As always, thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Sweet Dreams!

Chris

I like your gift from Shirlee very much.
When I make banana bread I always add chocolate chips, we skip the nuts in this house.

Your little gift from Shirlee is fabulous! I will have to give that dessert a try. Have a great weekend! We need to plan a "date" for July. :o)

That frozen banana dessert sounds yummy. I think I will try it some time. I do not buy bananas like I used to as the prices here have gone out the roof for them. We just finished off a small loaf of banana bread which is a favorite of DH. I can make it that size with one banana.

So this week when Jos got back from working again in Belgium he went to his laptop case and said he brought me a surprise. Belgium is famous for its absolutely heavenly chocolate bonbons. Yes...I assumed that is what he would pull out of the case but guess what? It was a single banana to let ripen for banana bread...lol. I about fell off the couch laughing. He asked if I really expected chocolate...UHHH...YES. :-)

Hugs from Holland ~

What a lovely RAK!

The banana "ice cream" looks interesting. I wonder if my nieces would like it? You use rip bananas? Free with or without the skin? They'll be here a week in July and I'm trying to figure out kid friendly kitchen activities and low processed snacks. This looks easy, fun, and delicious!
