It was a beautiful day today in Pennsylvania. This morning was a fairly leisurely one. After picking up our friend Louise we headed into Quakertown to find an Art-o-mat machine that was listed on the company's website. Unfortunately it had been removed. So it was off for a quick tour around the farmer's market.
In our travels we also drove past this notification...
I didn't see any chickens...
Then it was on to the Schwenkfelder. Our afternoon was spent catching up with friends, a little shopping, a couple of wonderful lectures on samplers and early needlework pattern books, church lady lunch...
Shoo-fly pie. When in PA....
After finishing up there we went and had a quiet dinner in Quakertown. The building the restaurant was in has been a tavern forever.
then back to the hotel to rest and prepare for another full day tomorrow.
There may be a few more stitches in this tonight.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend!

It looks like you are going to have a great week-end!
Enjoy! I haven't thought about shoo-fly pie in years!
So glad you are enjoying yourself.
Looks like lots of fun. The pie looks yummy and the stitching so pretty!
Pie? Yummmm!
Oh, it looks like you're having a great trip so far, Chris. I will never forget my first experience with Shoo-fly Pie! I was about six or seven and had been invited to a friend's house for dinner. When dessert time rolled around, my friend's German grandmother brought out some Shoo-fly Pie. I had never heard of such a thing and just couldn't bring myself to even take a single bite of something I imagined was made of flies :) Actually, I'm not sure I've ever tried it!!
Sounds like you're having a great time.
Glad you are enjoying your time!! I had to laugh at Carol's comment, as I thought something similar when little ~ who would want to eat a pie made of "shoes" and flies!?! But once I found out what it really was, yummy!!!
Looks like y'all are having fun. Try to keep Mom in line. If you can. ;)

Lovely stitching.
Lol! Love that chickens crossing sign! I wonder if it inspired the joke "chicken crossing a road"?! Great photos and lovely new stitching start!
You sure do get to do a lot of fun-sounding things :)
I'm liking your yellow rose, so far, too.
I've lived in PA all my life and never had shoo-fly pie! Once again, you've got one up on me.
