Art-o-Mat

While running around Nashville last Friday before the needlework market, Robin and I came across this...
How interesting....
Did you say scissor fob? Now I am rummaging through my cash to come up with a $5 that the machine takes. Robin has one so, the five goes in the machine and we pull the lever....
oohhh.....
aaahhhh.... so sweet and quite thrilling(obviously I need to get out more!).
So I have to get change, let me go down all the stairs and see if I can get 2 $5s for a $10.
This is a fabric artist....
How cool. This is on my bulletin board now.
So these machine's are all over the country. Check out the Art-o-Mat website. The company is in Winston-Salem, NC. Where else would you find old cigarette machines?
Check out this blog, Lucy's Lampshade to see her submission to this company.

So, dear friends, if you ever see one of these machines take a chance and pull the lever.

Have a great week.
Chris

May I add the link of another artist who has put her art in Art-O-Mat?
She is Lisa Jordan from Lilfishstudios and she makes some lovely felted embroidered stones. If you consider the fact that if and when you can snatch a stone on her shop it costs more than 25 dollars but on the art-O-mat it is only 5 it is certainly a bargain. I wish we had them in Greece!
Here is her blog.

How wonderful! Can anyone go to Nashville market? I thought it was just for store owners/designers. Good grief ... I'm just 3 hours away!

How fun Chris! It just dawned on me that you actually went to the Nashville Market for Cross-stitching? If this is true - W O W!!!
I want to hear what you picked up...and what samplers you saw that caught your eye. Sounds like you were having some fun:)
love Annette

What will they think of next. I would have put in quite a few coins as well.

I read about the art-o-mat machines on an artist's blog, but I'm frustrated by the fact that there are none close to me. I think there might be one in the city somewhere though. Might have to make a special trip. What a treat!! Have to bring lots of 5 dollar bills. :D

Wow, Chris, way cool! I'll have to check their blog to see if there's any here in the frozen (now melting) North.
