A Little Escape

Hello Friends,
Thanks for all your kind wishes about Zips. She is back home and my stitching budget is shot for the year. Maybe it is a good thing because I have plenty to stitch already.
Friday night one of my dear friends came into town for the Guild meeting on Saturday so we headed out to get something to eat.

We ended up at Dame's Chicken & Waffles in Greensboro. Yum! It was kind if like having dinner and dessert together. I definitely will want to go back to try one of their wonderful combinations.
After that we spent the night in town so we both wouldn't have to be driving up for the meeting. It was great catching up and having a calm easy morning before the guild meeting.
It has been a long time since we have seen each other so it was time to exchange Xmas gifts.

She gifted me with these wonderful mugs from Heartsting Samplery. Aren't they fabulous?
She also gifted me with some sweet mother of pearl thread winders and some other things to to pamper me.
Thanks dear Friend!
The guild meeting was wonderful and it was great to catch up since last year and to share our love of stitching.
I hope that wherever you are this weekend you have had some time to recharge and stitch.

Hugs!

How unusual! An eatery with chicken & waffles in their name : ) So sorry about your repair bill. Hopefully your vehicle will be good as new now. Lovely gifts!

Sorry to hear about the budget - I'm getting ready to have the same thing happen to me, but I keep putting it off (I know, it's not going to get better or cheaper with waiting). Great gifts! The mugs are really nice. Something to use in my office as nobody could say they didn't know they were mine! 8-)

Chris: Your mugs are lovely.
I am not buying anything until after the Stitchville Retreat in april and then I may not buy anything then.
I spent all week-end cleaning out my studio and found lots and lots of kitted projects I forgot about sooo I am going to do them for the Up For A Challenge 15 this year, maybe I can treat myself to something very special if I can get halfway through the projects.
I hope you are having good weather we have lots and lots of snow and its srill snowing.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you car repairs ended up costing you a lot, Chris--that is the last thing you need to worry about with all your stress over your job.

I'm glad you were able to meet up with your friend--those waffles look incredible and I love the mugs that she gave you--really a great stitchy gift :)

Hope this week goes better for you...

Good that you have your car back but not so good that it was expensive to have it repaired. I'm sure that you see the good side: stitching from your stash is always very exciting because you might discover charts that you've had for quite a while but have completely forgotten about. That's like getting something new, isn't it? I always discover treasures when browsing through my stash and I love it.
Those waffles look gorgeous. And make me hungry. And oh, I see, it's lunch time over here ...

Cars are such a drain on our budgets but I cannot imagine being without one.

Those mugs are gorgeous Chris.
