Uncle!!

That's it. I have reached that part of the summer when all I can think about is October. I can't seem to cool off. I look forward to back to school being over so that the stores put out the Halloween/fall items.
So what have I done about it? Well today I had a very slothful day. I have stayed in my pjs and watched tv and stitched.

I did the finishing on my July ornament.

I am very pleased with it.
I also picked out my ornament for August. The theme is a present so I have picked this one.

It is the Little by Little ornament from the 2004 JCS ornament issue.
I have been doing no stitching during the week and I miss it. I have a lot of projects that I need to catch up on and start too! Maybe I will hit the lottery.
I have been dieting since the beginning of the year along with exercising and though I have lost over 40 lbs. I am feeling like calling uncle here too. I have about 10 more lbs. to lose and then I want to work on maintaining for awhile. I just have been very hungry this weekend :)
Also I am 5'8" so though the weight loss seems like a lot, but my size hasn't changed as much as I would like. I am hoping in the morning I will feel better and be able to refocus.
I have been trying to catch some of the Olympics every day. I ruin the suspense by seeing the results online before I can actually watch the event.
Thanks to everyone that left a kind comment about my grandfather on my last post.
I am hoping to catch up on my blog reading and commenting soon.
Have a great week and stay cool!

Peace.

Great July ornament! I'm longing for Fall too - cooler days, no humidity - I think this heat drains a person's energy. Congrats on the weight loss - that is a great accomplishment! As for being slothful, I look at it as taking time to recharge - we all need days for that! Have a good week!

Love your ornie finish and your pick for the next ornie! And congrats on the weight loss! Very impressive! I bet it shows more than you think it does. I wish I could lose that much weight.

Thank you for not using the S word!! Don't be so hard on yourself. It's a great accomplishment to lose that much let alone in that amount of time. You work hard at it! You can certainly enjoy a day or two of satisfying cravings followed by a few veggie days. And that wild dancing.

Chris,
I love your finish for the ornament. You did a great job.

I can't wait to see how your going to finish Don't peek.

It is okay to take a day to yourself and not do anything. We all need it...

Congratulations on your weight loss of 40 pounds!

Don't give up. Sometimes our bodies hit a plateau. Don't stop trying maybe you need to do things a little different with your workouts. Try to change things around. Try a different routine as this will trick your muscles. It is okay to be hungry you may have to eat smaller meals/snacks(nutrious)a few more times through out the day.

These are some things I have learned while trying to stay fit. Chris your doing a great job with your weight loss! Don't give up!

Darling ornament finish, Chris. I like the one you've chosen to do next as well. Keep up the good work on the weight loss. You may not see a great deal of difference with 40 pounds but I'll bet others do and I guarantee you that your body knows/feels the difference and is thanking you! Keep at it!

Love the ornie finish! Very nice. I think 40 lbs is fantastic and you should be very proud of yourself. Wish I could do it.

Haha..I cheat with the Olympics too.

I here you with the dieting and exercise. It is tough. I lost a ton of weight a few years ago, then graduate school happened and of course the baby. It's rough getting back on track. And I can testify those last few pounds are the hardest! Hang in there!

Love your little snowman. Congrats on the weight loss. I know it can feel discouraging when you can't SEE the loss, but just remind yourself that you're feeling better.

I love the new ornie you've picked out to stitch, very cute!

Love your finish and the next one looks great.
Good for you Chris. I am with you. I would love to lose 10 more pounds, but instead have stayed put give or take 3 lbs yo-yo-ing around. Frustrating, but I will not center my life on my weight.

Dear Chris ... losing weight is so hard : ( Congratulations on losing 40 pounds thus far this year! They always say the final 10 are the hardest to lose so just hang in there. You'll do it : ) As far as your size not changing much after 40 pounds, it was worse for me last year. I worked hard & lost 70 pounds & only dropped 1, maybe 2, dress sizes. I am 5'9". I was so upset that I didn't look a whole lot "different" after that much weight loss (except I could wear my watch & rings again), & January brought with it a bunch of stress, & now I've gained a lot of that weight back. You need to try to avoid that happening to you. I need to try to re-lose everything now ... sigh!

Forgot to say I love your finished ornament & your choice for the next one : ) And I'm with you ... enough already of the summer! Hurry up fall!

Humm...is it not normal to think of autumn when the August heat appears? Lol! I am making a Halloween quilt and doing a finish to a stitching project I did last year. But then autumn is my favorite time of year.

Love your sweet snowman ornament!!! And the next once is fab!

We have had only 4 days of full sunshine so far , hope we get a little more before the Autumn.

Yes, Chris, I agree...enough of this heat already! Stitching all those cute little Christmas pieces must be helping you keep cool a little.

Fun finishes.

And I love the ornament you've chosen for August! I think it is quite an accomplishment to lose 40lbs! It's a tough thing to lose weight and so easy to become discouraged, but don't give up!!

Such cute ornies! I'll have to go look for that 2004 JCS.
40 pounds? Wow - that's fantastic! Give yourself permission to have a "splurge day" to make it all worth all the effort.

I think you well deserve a "slothful" day, Chris after all your hard work on your weight loss... That is fantastic--I'm so impressed! I'll bet you feel like you have so much more energy, don't you? And I know your body is thanking you for it--just imagine carrying around a 40 pound weight all the time... I'm sure your feet are happiest of all :)

Love your little ornament finish--it really is cute!! And your present themed pick is perfect for next August.

Hang in there--this heat HAS to end soon...

Cute finish! Love the ornie! Hang in there with the weight loss. It gets frustrating. And sometimes the weight comes off where you don't want it. You've done such a great job already!
