Backstitching? I Think Not!

I finished stitching my August ornament for the Christmas All Year Long SAL.

This is the Little By Little ornament from the 2004 JCS ornament issue stitched on a mystery piece of 35ct linen with the recommended DMC threads.
The chart called for some backstitching on the bird and on one of the ribbons and packages. I have decided that it looks great without it.
I hope to do the finishing on this before the end of the month.
Now for some stash diving to find next months ornament.

Sweet Dreams!

It looks wonderful just as it is... I wouldn't bother with the backstitching. I've always loved this design.

I agree Chris - unless it is absolutely essential - ditch the backstitch! ;0)

Very cute. I find the thought of backstitch is worse than the actual doing of the backstitch lol

I agree with you, it totally looks great without it! Would you be at all interested in making 2013 the year of Jane Rees and us providing each other some motivation? I know, months away, but she's already been a WIP for almost 6 years for me.

Hi Chris! I think your ornament is beautiful just as it is also. I totally hate the backstitching on my cross stitched projects. It makes me nuts! Your work is always so lovely...Have a fun weekend! :)

I really dislike backstitching and often think is spoils the look of a design.
