Over...Already??

Wow, time is really flying by.
Saturday morning I headed up to Greensboro to run some errands before meeting up with the sampler group. It was our first field trip so we decided to keep it local. We started by visiting Blandwood mansion in Greensboro. It seems like we are often too busy to explore what is in our backyard.

This USA picture of the garden in between the house and the kitchen. There were lots of flowers blooming. This picture really doesn't show them. Greensboro has along history but hardly any old houses or buildings. Downtown seems to have all been leveled and paved over. It is amazing that this house is still here.
After the tour we headed a couple of blocks over to Cafe Europa for a nice lunch. We sat outside and everyone had a chance to catch up. After that a few of us walked over to the history museum. They have a great exhibit about the history of Greensboro. Did you know that Greensboro is the home of Vicks Vap-o-rub?
It was just a perfect day. The only problem was that I couldn't settle down to stitch.
Today was taken up with our morning hike. Today we saw lots of mushrooms.

All different colors and sizes.

The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, cooking, vacuuming, etc. I did get some stitching in this evening. I am trying to finish up part II of the By The Bay SAL done.

That 's about it from here.
Have a good night.

Time does fly, doesn't it? Sounds like you had a good time on the field trip. I checked out Myra's blog and it sounds like Blandwood is a lovely place - I love old gardens - so peaceful. Have a great week!

Looks like a wonderful old house. We have had tons of mushrooms this year too! Kind of weird as we live so far apart! Have a good week!

Sounds like a good time, even without the stitching. Vicks VaP-O-Rub is on my counter ready to stake outside. It keeps cats away from baby rabbits and critters away from flowers. I guess it bothers their sensitive noses and turns them away. My husband has been picking wild mushrooms since he was taught by his grandfather and father. Tradition to them. Have a great week!
