Finishing???

Ok, I know that my friends know that my finishing repertoire is very limited. I can outline stitched pieces and whip them together and stuff them or mount the stitching and backing fabric on Bristol board and put them together and attach trim or cording around the outside.
So, since I am limited I love to find the perfect backing fabric or add some bling to the back of the piece that I am going to stuff.
Here is what I did for the back of my gingerbread ornament.

What tricks do you do to give your finishes that extra pop?

Happy Tuesday!

I love to see stitching on the back as you did. I never think about doing it until I see someone else's!!! This is so perfect.

Nice ornament! Very pretty! What do I do about finishing? I send it away to be finished. lol! I really need to attempt my own finishing sometime though. I know I'm capable of it, just lazy.

Sweet ornament. I do very basic finishing. But, for the more advanced finishing I send it off to a professional finisher. I'd much rather be stitching than finishing.

Really lovely ornament, Chris! I am sorry but I am no help on finishing ideas, I am still very challenged when it comes to that. LOL

The stitching on the back is a great idea, I use lots of vintage butons and lace, I also like beading, some of my needlerolls donot call for beads but I still add them.
Have a super duper day.

ohhh lovely flourish on the back :) I always put my name and the year on the back of things so folks will a)remember it was me that did it and b)the year it was done ....
sometimes I add beads for bling or a wee bit of pearl no32 krenink blending filament :)

What a great idea to stitch the back! I'm afraid my finishing skills are pretty limited. :)

Thank you Chris for inspiring me. This is just wonderful. I usually just opt for a fabric backing.
