What's Hanging On Your Walls?

Besides all the fabulous things that you have stitched?

When I wrote the post about my Grandmother I meant to add a picture of the stamped piece that she stitched that hangs in my kitchen.

So here is the piece stitched by her. Fun and campy!

I also have a piece my Mom stitched that is crewel.

I have to say her stitching is fabulous.
I am lucky to have both of these pieces.
So my question is do you have any pieces stitched by members if your family? Are they hanging on your walls?

Happy Tuesday!

Chris

My nanna taught me how to cross stitch but when she died all of her stitched items went to my cousin because I had already stitched the pieces myself! I do have her stitching bag however and I swear i can still smell her on it! :0)

Lovely pieces. I do not have any from friends or family since they do not stitch.

Great pieces! I don't have any pieces from family members, which saddens me.

Nice! No, sadly I don't have anything hanging from my relatives. I do have a sweater knitted by my sister though. :D

Hi Chris, My Mom id a stamped cross stitch of the Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg. Since , I believe, that was the only thing Mom ever stitched, it is precious to me.

Chris ... You are lucky to have something stitched by your mom & your grandma. Those things are treasures indeed : )

Unfortunately not, no one else in my family does any form of stitching or crafts. My maternal grandmother did but it was mostly utilitarian as she raised a family of seven plus her eldest daughter's three daughters. As you can imagine, decorative stitching just didn't happen. My paternal grandmother did some embroidery but not a great deal.

Both pieces look great. I'm the only stitcher in my family so there are no stitched pieces from anybody else.

Your Good Cooks piece reminded me of a stamped sampler that I stitched for my Aunt Janet decades ago. It said, "Kissing Wears Out, Cooking Don't". Her house was cleaned out years ago, so I guess this might have ended up in a landfill somewhere.

Oh, you are so lucky Chris! Both pieces are wonderful! The eagle looks perfect and I really like the look of stamped cross-stitch, so much that I copied one of my MILs a few years back!

So lucky to cherish two fantastic pieces. I wish I had something that I love to do from my descendents , cross stitch, I have a few other things though. It makes me ponder sometimes... where did I get the will to stitch.
