Eveline Is Finished, But She Is Now Called Valda

I stayed up late last night to put the final stitches in this one.

I decided to put my Grandmother's name in it and her birthday.

I think it is a very sweet sampler and I enjoyed stitching it.
My Grandmother hated her first name and used Irene. Everyone called her Tim.
She was the oldest of 4. My Great Grandfather moved the family from Port Granby in Ontario to NC back it the 20's. My Grandmother graduated from High School in Garner, NC and went on to Duke.

Here she is on her wedding day in NYC. She and my Grandfather raised their family outside of Philadelphia.

My Mom was the oldest of her 4 daughters. Unfortunately she developed Alzheimer's when I was in High School and by the time I was 18 she no longer recognized us.
I miss her. We called her NanNan , her mother we called Nana.

So, what is next? I am going to spend some time on my April ornament.

Rich is down the road at a military truck rally. The weather is perfect for it. Tomorrow we are going to my Mom's for dinner.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Hugs!
Chris

What a beautiful finish. I love that you personalized it with your grandmother's name. And all of your family photos are so lovely, thank you for sharing. One of my hobbies is my family history, it is so interesting to have the details and the photos from so long ago.
Enjoy your Easter, Chris!
