Columbia, SC!
So yesterday we hopped in the car and headed south. First stop was at the Stitch n Frame in Rock Hill, SC. This is a great shop. I really just wanted to look at the market releases. I am going to get the PS charts but I will order them all at once. So anyway I was just really there to look. They asked me if I needed help 4 times. So I was beginning to think they thought I was a shoplifter. I hate that feeling. Maybe I was just being over sensitive? Anyway I always like to support brick and mortar stores if I visit one so I bought these..
I have been wanting this LHN ornament, and I found a snowman I didn't have and the ladybug is my cave in to spring fever.
This was our next stop. This is a wonderful art museum and this exhibit of the Hudson River School painters was worth the trip.
Here is a pic of some funky sculpture.
This is the 9/11 memorial down by the visitor's center. This area of Columbia is a converted warehouse district that has lots of restaurants. We had some yummy Cuban good for dinner.
So what will today bring? I am sure something fun.
Have a great weekend!
Reporting from the road an signing off!

Glad you're having a good time! Happy birthday to Rich! My DH love the Hudson River Painters.
Happy Birthday to Rich! Sounds like a fun time!!
The stop at the cross stitch store was for Rich's birthday??? LOL! Glad you found something to add to your stash. I know what you mean about that feeling you sometimes get when shopping in stores. I guess theft is so prevalent though that shop owners must be extra vigilant and wary. It's sad though, isn't it?
Glad that your husband's birthday trip destination was near a cross stich shop, Chris! How convenient :) Nice new stash you've added to your collection...
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Happy Birthday to your DH, have fun.
Love your new charts.
That is a sweet little sampler Chris. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I feel pressured when there is more than one "can I help you". Or when the salesperson stands by you while you browse. Enjoy the weekend with the birthday boy!
Looks like you are having a fun time! It is always fun to go browsing in a stitching store, but I agree with you, it sounds like they were looking over your shoulder! It is so much better when you can just browse in peace! Have fun!!
Glad to hear you are having such a nice week-end. Your husband must be a sweetie to stop at a cross stitch shop on his birthday week-end! Tell him happy birthday!
Waving hello from my side of town in Columbia! Hope you enjoy your visit. The Flying Saucer is good in the Vista too if you have time to visit.
happy sightseeing...
Love your pictures from South Carolina. I haven't been, but really want to do so. Really sweet little designs that your picked up.

What a great idea, loved getting your report from the road. The snowman pattern is cute, I've never seen that one before. CJ in OK ;-)
Happy birthday Rich!
What a nice trip! I know what you mean about that "they think I might be a shoplifter" feeling. I always carry a large purse with me. I remember my husband & I going to an antique shop once & the lady behind the counter saying to me "I can keep your purse here at the counter if you'd like!" She was smiling & very pleasant. I in turn pleasantly replied that it was no problem for me to haul it around. It was almost funny ... one of the clerks then began to tail us, always keeping about 2 booth lengths behind us. If we stopped at a booth to look at something, she suddenly stopped at one & pretended she was looking at something too. It was hilarious but it also irritated me because I'm one of the most honest people you would ever meet & I wouldn't take something that wasn't mine if my life depended on it. This is just one example but it has happened now & again. I guess you can't blame them though ... I imagine lose a lot of things to shoplifters. I've heard stories from shop owners about that too. Okay ... enough of me rambling : _)
Hope your husband is enjoying his birthday trip! How convenient that there was a cross stitch shop on the way, lol! I love your new stash additions.
