This is the SamSarah freebie from the Weeks Dye Works website. I stitched it with one strand of the recommended threads. I added a Smyrna stitched red and white border.
This is what I did with the back, a couple of stitched stars and a couple of buttons.
It will be headed off in the mail to my friend soon!
Now I need to get back to the mystery sampler. I am tempted to join the Halloween exchange hosted by Lainey but I don't know if I need another distraction.
I won't get any stitching done the next 2 nights since I have to work and I am going to a dinner.
Did the earth shake for you today? I missed it. I was walking along and didn't notice anything.
There may be part of hurricane Irene headed our way. People are starting to pick up their supplies. Hopefully we will just get a bunch of rain.
Be safe!
Chris

Your Patriotic ornie is cute! Especially the way you finished the back..... Be safe and hope we are spared Irene and any more earthquake tremors! Faye
Great Freebie ;)
I love your little finish, its so cute!
That ornie is just too cute! That just goes t show that sometimes the less complicated stuff is the prettiest, don't you think?
No ground shaking here in KY today, but we *almost* got rain on Sunday...
Fantastic finish! I love your finishing, too.
Such a darling ornament. Love it.
Sweet. Need to look this one up. The back is too cute to be a back!
I love this, Chris! Just printed it off last week, but I probably won't get to it until next summer. You did a great job :)
A lot of my coworkers felt the earthquake at the library, but I didn't feel a thing either! Hope that hurricane leaves the Carolinas alone!
Love patriotic pieces! Nice finishing. Hoping the hurricane decides to change course.
Very cute! Love the finish.
We were shaken for about 10 seconds--I thought my vertigo was hitting until I saw a coworker looking bemused. It is a very weird feeling--glad I live here and not on the West Coast--even if we do have to watch for hurricanes.
You should be tickled - that looks great! I love what you did with the back.
I felt the earth shake. :o) I was sitting at my desk at work - thought I was dizzy for some reason at first. LOL
What a cute finish - I love the star buttons!
I succumbed to the lure of lainey's Halloween exchange, the last 2 exchanges were so much fun!
Nice finish, Chris.
Love the finish you chose - great job! No more rockin' and rollin' going on here since the first one! Hope you're all safe and sound up the coast - get your supplies and please be prepared and safe!
Your ornie is lovely, congratulations
