Random Stuff

Hello Friends.  I hope that you and your families are all safe and prepared for Irene if you live on the East Coast. Here in Randolph County, NC we have only experienced some wind. I was hoping for some rain too. It has been hot and dry the last week and some rain would have helped. I know that further east the coast is getting hammered with rain and would wish it away.
I finally finished reading this book. I enjoyed it a lot but I hate waiting for the next one. I like books with some closure. Anyone else feel this way? I like reading mysteries because each case is closed even though the book has old friends whose adventures you have shared before. Next up on my reading list is Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews. Light and fluffy.
Rich is working today so I ran some errands this morning. One stop was the post office. I picked up some stamps. I love this set. Look at the strawberry. This artist should do some cross stitch designing!
I also picked these up. For many years I worked for Lechters Housewares so I love these stamps too.

I spent some time this afternoon with the mystery sampler. I am adjusting back to the 40ct. linen. I got a wicked papercut on the middle finger of my right hand yesterday at work and when I hit it wrong with my needle..ouch!!! I watched a silly movie called Wicked Target and stitched this afternoon. They were driving around in an old mini, so you know I liked that part of the movie.

Well Rich is on his way home, dinner is in the oven.
Be safe friends.

Chris

I read A Discovery of Witches and loved it, however I didn't realize it was the first in a series. So yeah, I'm not happy about having to wait for the next one to come out. Do you have any idea when that is?

I like your progress on the mystery sampler. Sorry to hear about the papercut. I managed to nick myself with a knife, not once, but twice today in the kitchen. I don't think either cut is in a spot where it will bother me while stitching. I should use better knife handling skills.

Your Mystery looks great, Chris! I worked on mine a wee bit today but still have a long way to go!

Hope your finger heals quickly - paper cuts are just terrible!

I love those heart stamps too, Chris. I have been trying to get them from the post-office for months now and finally lucked out last week - yay! Now I just need to find someone to send some letters with pretty stamps to...

You are making good progress on the mystery sampler Chris. I was hoping for a little more rain out of Irene too. That book does look interesting. I tend to wait until more books of a series have been released before I start reading them - that way I can go thru them and not have to wait.

Sounds like you had my kind of weekend - reading and stitching, and just having fun with favorite things! Pretty amazing how the needle can find the tender spot, isn't it? Your BOAF is coming along really well.
