Thank You Greenwood!

Well, all good things must come to an end. The weekend came to an end way too quickly. Here are a few more pics from the rally...

The boy and his truck.

That mud was really deep!

Cake!

This years T shirt.
It was great seeing everyone and I am already looking forward to next year.

I made a little more progress on the BBD piece. I am really loving the way this is stitching up.
I have over committed to one of my jobs the next couple of weeks so I don't know how much stitching time I will have :(
Have a great Monday!

Rally Time

Woohoo!
It is that time I year again when Rich and I head down to Greenwood, SC for the Southern Dodge Power Wagon Rally. It is great to see everyone and Rich is in heaven.

Some early arrivals.

Some sad old trucks.

Rich's truck is the one on the left.

Last night we convoyed over to the town of Ninety Six for dinner. It was a great ride and fun to ride in our truck.

Dusty.

I went to Greenville for the day to have lunch with a friend. We didn't go to the drive in movies last night. There just isn't anything playing that we want to see.
We did hunt up some local flavors over the last couple of days....

Eating with the locals...

And for breakfast..

Now I am going to hang out for awhile and stitch and will head out to the rally later.
Have a great Saturday!

Busy!

Hello Friends!
I hope that you are having a wonderful spring. Time sure has been flying by. I have been busy with work, exercise, family and life. It has left me little time for actually blogging and not much stitching time. I have been still visiting your blogs and admiring all your beautiful stitching.
Anyway here are some pics of some of the things that have been going on...

A zumbathon for Relay for Life.

Rich and his parents hit the Farmer's market for some plants for the garden.

The may apples are up and blooming in the woods.

And a new start. This is Song of Spring by Blackbird Designs. It is the recent installment from the Ladies Prim Society hosted by Dying to Stitch.
That's it for today.
Have a great Friday!

Ooh Mail!

Hello Friends!
I was very lucky to win a drawing from Donna at By The Bay Needlework and it came in the mail this week.

I actually got to see a model of this at Nashville. It is gorgeous. I am so thrilled. I don't know if I would try the appliqué part. So glad that there is a cross stitch option. Thank you Donna!
Here are some signs of spring from the gorgeous weekend here in NC....

These little purple flowers show up this time of year on the side of our driveway.

Maybe I will get lots of figs this year!?

Apple blossoms.
And of course spring means....

Truck rally time.

I think Rich had a great weekend too.
And here is the current pic of M.A. Tipper...

I have been working on the right hand side.

Now I need to get that verse in the middle done.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great week.

A Perfect Spring Day

Hello Dear Friends & a warm welcome to my new followers.
I hope that everyone was blessed with an amazing spring day like the one we had here in the Carolinas. 75 degrees and spring sunshine.
It was also a perfect day because it was the Piedmont Heritage Sampler Guild's second annual road trip. This year's destination was Salisbury. This is a small very important historical town north of Charlotte.
Our first stop was at Spring Robin, a lovely needlework shop.
Here's some of the action...

Carol from Threads of Gold brought some of these wonderful antiques for us to see.

So having shopped we went around the corner and had lunch at the Sidewalk Deli. We were able to eat outside and enjoy the lovely weather.
Then we walked 2 blocks over to the Hall House.

I have posted about this house before. It was a girl's school in the 1820's to 30's before the Hall's bought the property.

Here's the group trying to get organized for a pic.

Here's me and everyone else. Our sweet tour guide was challenged with the camera.
It was a wonderful day out and was perfect.

Now I am home and stitching.

G Rating

Hello Friends,
I wanted to share one more small finish. I stitched this back in 2004. It was a small kit from Joanne Harvey.

Here is the "G" version.
Now, if you are ready..
And want to se the "R" rated version scroll down...

Lol!
Myra did a lovely job finishing her for me. The kit came with this backing fabric.

I hope this made you smile.

Happy Tuesday!

No Stitching, But A Little More Myra-nizing

I hope that everyone is having a good week and will get some sunshine over the weekend.
I have not gotten any stitching done but I wanted to share a couple more things that Myra fined for me.

A Homespun Elegance ornament from one of the JCS issues.

I never could have finished it in this shape myself.

This is a very old Lizzie Kate freebie that I stitched up last year.

Fabulous backing fabric!

This little ghost button is at the base of the hanger. Sorry for the poor pic.
That's it! Have a great weekend!

Something Blue

Hello Friends,
If you have been visiting my blog in the past you may have read about my obsession with my everyday china and my continued search for different pieces.
Recently this arrived in my mailbox.

The cup in the front is blue! It is a very pretty blue too. See how all the tea cups are different shapes? Resturantware is so much fun.
Now I hardly ever use these cups. We are not coffee or tea drinkers. But it seems like there are lots of cups out there because they were not used so much. I have the biggest problem finding bowls and I would love to find some mugs. I have only ever seen pictures of mugs.
This pattern also comes in green, but I have never seen a piece in that color either. The hunt continues....

Maybe I need to make this into a pincushion. I love it.

Hugs

Chris

Saturday Outing

Hello Friends,
After working 9 to 3 on Saturday, Rich picked me up and we went up to the Greensboro Historical Museum to see Dolley Madison's famous red dress.

The museum in housed in a really cool building that was a church and was used as a hospital during the Civil War.
Dolley's dress has just returned from being at the Smithsonian and is on display until June. It was a lovely exhibit. I am so glad that I took the time to see it.
In the back there is a lovely cemetery.

With lots of lovely flowers blooming right now.

I really need to get some flowering Quince for my garden.

Lots of snow drops.

Vinca(Susan, you know what this means!)

Lovely camellias.

After taking in these beautiful flowers we stopped and had some hot dogs and ice cream for dinner. It was a perfect spring afternoon!
I hope my week is as good!

Wishing you all some warm spring weather.
