Peaceful Sunday

Hello Dear Friends.
Thanks for all your kind comments and squirrel/rodent versus car stories.  You cheered me up throughout this past week.

I have kept myself warm during some cold mornings with some Chai in my fabulous Weeks Dye Works tumbler.

I saw these amazing colors on my way to work Friday before the ice storm moved in.
I did a small bit of Bristol stitching. Unfortunately I had to rip out part of one of the round motifs since I was off a thread.
Here are the boys being still for once.
Today was spent hiking and then cooking for the upcoming week. Dinner tonight is stuffed pepper soup from The Country Cook. It has become a favorite of ours.
I am still wrestling with decisions about my job. This is going to be going on for awhile. Thanks for listening :)

Check back bright and early tomorrow for a post about my 200th follower giveaway!.

Peace.

Stress is....

Not good for my stitching. I have only made a little progress on this guy.

Stress is not good for my diet. I need to get back to a normal schedule. I need to go to exercise class the same days every week.
What stress? They installed the new Rx system at work and it went live Thursday. Just in time for patients to be getting anxious about this...

Not only do the bread and milk sections of the grocery store get wiped out but pharmacies get really busy because people want to make sure that they have everything they need incase they are snowed or iced in for a week.
My 45 minute commute on Friday was stressful because of this too.
Then there was has been the squirrel problem. Someone has been trying to build a cosy nest under the hood of Rich's truck. When squirrels get in your vehicle they chew lots of stuff up. Yikes.
So, I am looking forward to this week being smooth and clear. Hopefully it will live up to my expectations.
Thanks for all your kind comments and visiting my blog.
I am almost at 200 followers!! Yahoo, stay tunes for a 200 followers giveaway.

Wishing you a great week.
Peace!

The Sampler Bookshelf

Hello Stitching Friends,

Over the last couple of weeks a couple of sampler book have come my way.

The first is Columbia's Daughters. This is the result o a wonderful research project that details the samplers from the different areas of our Capitol.
It can be ordered from the website. If you had the chance to see the exhibit on Baltimore samplers a couple of years ago that exhibit was curated by Gloria Seaman Allen. The Maryland sampler book is also available on her website.

This is the next book that I received. It is on the Norfolk, England samplers. The pictures and the research that went into this book are wonderful. These are gorgeous samplers. You can order the book from the In The Company of Friends Website. It also comes with a lovely sampler chart.

They are both wonderful additions to my library.

Weekend Errands

Hello friends,
It seems like my whole weekend was spent running around, Zumba, grocery store, Target. Rich and I did have a chance to see Zero Dark Thirty. I liked this much more than I thought I would. We also did a short hour long hike.
On Sunday I made a pot of sauerkraut soup.

The recipe can be found on the October Farm Blog. Rich says that this one is a keeper.
The tiny bit of stitching that I did Sunday night was on M.A. Tipper.

I couldn't resist not pulling out my SL piece so I could post and join the fun over at the SAL.

Here is the big girl.

That is it for now. I hope everyone had a great week. I am definitely hoping for some improvement here!
Hugs!

Sweet Find

I found this sweet pair of stitched pieces and they had to come home with me.

They seem to have some age and are 7.5"x 4". Wouldn't the designs make cute Xmas ornaments? You could stitch them on a dark color fabric in white. So sweet.
I hope that you have found or have experienced something wonderful this weekend.

Halloween Fun!

Good Morning Stitching Friends.
Lainey graciously agreed to set up a Halloween SAL blog for this year. I enjoyed and was so successful in the 2012 Christmas All Year Long SAL that I jumped at the chance to join this one. Hopefully by the time Halloween rolls around I will have some lovely finishes to display.
  January's theme is pumpkin.

Here is my choice. I am stitching it on some mystery linen with some of the Victorian Motto Shoppes wonderful floss. Now, to find some more stitching time.
I know that many of you love Halloween and fall so why not join the fun. You can visit the blog here. Just follow the instructions on the sidebar to join.

This is going to be fun!!

One Done

Hello stitching Friends!
I hope that the first week of 2013 has been good to you. I am trying to get back to a normal schedule but it is hard. The stress at work this month is extreme. They are reorganizing the pharmacy and installing a new Rx system. I will be glad when the month is over. I hope that I can be patient and be able to shake things off easily. It has messed up my diet and I have been stress eating. I hate that. I am hoping to be in control this week.
I did finish my LHN ornament...

Sorry for the poor photo. Now I need to get some stitching on Marietta done.
Rich and I did get out and hike this morning.

I saw this guy on the trail. The trail looks so different since all the leaves are gone.
That's it from here. Have a great week.

2013...The Year Of Unfinished Business

Hello Friends,
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful start to 2013. I know that many of you started new projects. I would love to do that but by the title of my post you can tell that I am going to try to finish WIPs, UFOs and to stash stitch.
So without further ado....

1st unfinished business
I am late letting you know who will receive my gently used Jenny Bean Halloween Sampler chart. Of the 7 Stitchers interested the Random Number generator picked #6 Jonette. Please email me Jonette with your address so that I can get the chart in the mail to you.

2nd unfinished business....

I made some progress on this LHN ornament. It was my final ornament for the Christmas All Year Long Ornament SAL. I need to get it finished, pretty close now.

3rd unfinished business

I need to finish up Marietta. She has been languishing since summer. Once I finish her I can go play with the Scarlet Letter SAL Stitchers and work on my Bristol Orphanage sampler.
I have joined in the Halloween all year long ornament SAL. I do need to add to my stitched pieces for fall. This month's theme is pumpkin. I have to pull my stuff together to start a small piece.

That's it from here. Back to work tomorrow. They are going to start reorganizing and putting new shelving in at work this week then new computers the following week. It is going to be a busy month.

Peace
