Sheep

Hello Friends!
I had the chance to swing by Hobby Lobby today. I needed some more Bristol board for ornament finishing. So I also checked out frames since the By The Bay SAL will fit in a 5x7 frame.
This is what I found.

Can you see the green color? It matches the olive greens in this piece. I hope it will look good when finished.

I am about 3/4 of the way with this. See the little sheep?
These other 2 sheep arrived in my mailbox this week.

Fun for me!

I hope everyone had a great Saturday and wishing you a lovely Sunday.

Peace

And A Little More..

Progress that is.

I finished stitching my Brittercup ornament. I really like it. This month was Stitcher's Choice in the Christmas All Year Long SAL.
I will try and do the finishing on it next weekend. I also need to pick next months ornament. This one should have a bird on it. I am looking forward to finding the design that I will stitch.

Now it is back to the By The Bay SAL. The final piece of the chart was released today. This is a fun stitch. Donna mentioned that she might do this again for the fall or Halloween. I am keeping my fingers crossed. When finished this will fit in a 5x7 frame.
So, it doesn't look like Marietta will get finished this month. Once I finish the By The Bay piece I will pick it up again.
Rich is in Connecticut this weekend to visit family and to celebrate our nephew's high school graduation. I am holding things down at home. I hope to get some more stitching done.

That's it from here. Off to bed but I don't sleep a well when Rich is away.

Have a great weekend and stay cool.
Thanks for dropping by and all your lovely comments.

A Little Progress

Thanks everyone for dropping by and commenting on my new start. Also on the mystery bruises, they seem to be a very common phenomenon.

Here is one of our daylillies. Usually the deer have come by and eaten all the buds.

Out first sunflower o the year.

I looking forward to a few more fresh figs this year.

Not much else to report on from here. Rich and I did some trail maintenance on our weekly hike. The last 2 weekends there have been people that have hiked in about a 1/2 hour and camped and have left beer cans and other debris behind. We came out with a bag of garbage. Ugh!
I hope that everyone is having a great Monday. I have Dr. appointments and my mammogram later today and then on to CVS from 6:30 to 10.

TTYS

How Did This Happen?

Do you you ever find a bruise and have no idea where it came from?

How did I manage this on the side of my thumb? Geez.
I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. I dropped my phone yesterday at work and shattered the back of it. Rich and I drove up to Greensboro to the Apple store and they fixed it for $29 bucks, yahoo! After that we went to a little Mediterranean restaurant and had a nice dinner.

I had a stressful day yesterday. Maybe it will be better in July.
I started my ornament for the Christmas All Year Long SAL.

I have chosen the Brittercup ornament from the 2008 JCS ornament issue. I had it kitted so it was an easy choice.

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here the last couple of days. Low 80's. I wish it would stay this way all summer.

Thanks for all your kind comments and visiting me here.

I hope that you had time to stitch today!

Hugs!

Mailbox Happiness

I was very lucky to win Jenny's 100 followers giveaway over at her blog, One Stitch Closer To Nirvana. This is one of my favorite blogs. Jenny is an amazing stitcher. She also stitches a lot of Danish designer pieces. I love the style of them.

I tried to take some better pics with my camera but I think I need to charge the battery :(
Jenny sent me the Sit & Stitch chart with all the GAS threads from With Thy Needle & Thread.

Jenny has 2 sweet bunnies and I think they must have told her to add these to the package.
Jenny also added some sweet heart charms and this wonderful Charles Harper card. If you follow her blog you also know that she is Mom to a small flock.
Thank you Jenny!

I hope that everyone's week is going well. My last 2 days have been very busy. Rich and I went to her the Camel City Spirit Seekers talk at the library. They are local ghost hunters. It was more ghost stories than EVPs or evidence. Then we also had to take one I the cars to be inspected.
Work is very stressful, July 1 will be here very soon. I am hoping for a good day today.
Well let me go get ready!

Have a great Thursday!

Chris

Over...Already??

Wow, time is really flying by.
Saturday morning I headed up to Greensboro to run some errands before meeting up with the sampler group. It was our first field trip so we decided to keep it local. We started by visiting Blandwood mansion in Greensboro. It seems like we are often too busy to explore what is in our backyard.

This USA picture of the garden in between the house and the kitchen. There were lots of flowers blooming. This picture really doesn't show them. Greensboro has along history but hardly any old houses or buildings. Downtown seems to have all been leveled and paved over. It is amazing that this house is still here.
After the tour we headed a couple of blocks over to Cafe Europa for a nice lunch. We sat outside and everyone had a chance to catch up. After that a few of us walked over to the history museum. They have a great exhibit about the history of Greensboro. Did you know that Greensboro is the home of Vicks Vap-o-rub?
It was just a perfect day. The only problem was that I couldn't settle down to stitch.
Today was taken up with our morning hike. Today we saw lots of mushrooms.

All different colors and sizes.

The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, cooking, vacuuming, etc. I did get some stitching in this evening. I am trying to finish up part II of the By The Bay SAL done.

That 's about it from here.
Have a good night.

Made It To Friday!

What a week!?! I don't know why but I am beat. I got home from work today and parked my butt in my chair. I started part 2 of the By The Bay SAL.

I think it will go quick. My to do stack is increasing. I received an order from JJ's Collectables. I ordered the last few floss Coles that I needed for Penny America, I also ordered Mary Roe and a piece of 28ct French Country Linen.

I also received some charts too that friends have passed on.

From my friend Mary Ann, I received the BBD Quaker Garden Chart and the sweet scissors. And from Robin( Threads of Memory Blog) I received La-D-Da's Spot the Cat. I am lucky.
Well I need to go to bed. Tomorrow is our Sampler group. It is our field trip. Stay tuned for a full report:)

Happy weekend Friends!!

SAL Start

Happy Monday!
Donna over at By The Bay Needlearts is hosting a June SAL. There will be a new part released each week for the month. Head on over to her blog to check it out.

Here is my start. I have to finish the leaves and add the French knots in the middle of the flowers.
I don't know if I will fill in the whole background. I am going to wait and see. I don't know if I will add the alphabet either.
So who else is stitching this? Have you changed colors or added specialty stitches?

Well no more stitching tonight.
Good night Friends!

Hiking, Critters & Marietta

Hello Friends!
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. I can't believe that it is already over :(
In Saturday Rich and I went up to Bur Mill park in Greensboro to take part on a group hike for The 2012 National Trails Day.

It was a very nice easy trail and we hiked 10 miles. There were about 10 of us. They also were having other activities in the park, a 5k race and other events.
After the hike Rich and I went to one of our favorite delis for a sandwich.

This Luna Moth was hanging out on the side of the building. I don't see these very often.

When I got home I saw this guy hanging out in the garden.
This morning we went out for another hike on our regular trail. It is amazing what different things or changes you see each week on the trail.

There was a big tree down. We had severe thunder storms on Friday and it must have come down then.

We hiked a different way and saw this spring.

And we saw these guys.

I thin these 2 snails were out on a date. Do you see the one eating the mushroom and then the one at the very bottom of the pic in the center?
I did a lot of cooking. I am ready for the upcoming week!
I also worked on Marietta.

The over 2 stitching is done now onto all the over 1 motifs.

I might put this down for a little bit to work on some of my other projects.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend and I hope that you had some time to stitch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello June

I can't believe it is June already. The hollyhocks have started blooming in the garden.

I usually don't set stitching goals for the month but I seem to have a lot of projects lined up.

1- I would like to get Marietta finished. Thanks for all the input on the slubs.

2- the July Pine Mountain Pillow.

3- my ornament for the Christmas All Year Long. This month is stitcher's choice and I have pulled a kit for a Brittercup Design ornament from the stash.

4- I need to stitch some RAKs.

So, it looks like it is going to be a busy month. What are your stitching plans?

I am looking for a Jubilee freebie. If you know of any please let me know.

Well, off to work now. Today is my long day, both jobs. Hopefully it will be a smooth day.

Have a great Friday!
