Sarah Marston

Hello Friends,
This is Sarah Marston. She is the small sampler that I have chosen to travel with me. I don't need to start another project but she has been languishing in the stash for awhile. I love the carnation and the robin. This sampler is not available on The Essamplaire website any more, I searched and could not find it listed.
Here is a pic of Rich and I 20 years ago, our anniversary is October 5th. I am very lucky. He is my best friend. The excitement is building towards our trip. Binx is very disappointed not to be invited.
Well, I need to get back to bed. A very heavy thunderstorm just went by. I have a very intense day tomorrow at work.

Sleep well friends!

Sorry Binx

You are not going to Hawaii.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. After visiting the allergist today we have no answer to what caused DH's hives. If it occurs again they will do some more testing.
It was quiet here over the weekend. Rich and I packed.
I made this lovely warm soup.

The recipe is from the Country Cook blog, tortellini meatball soup. Perfect for a rainy weekend.

I also made some progress on the mystery sampler. She is progressing nicely. I went rummaging around in my stash for a travel project and decided on a small sampler from The Essamplaire on 30ct. Hopefully I will get some stitching done.
Well off to work!

Here Comes October

Hello Friends!
Things have been busy here the last couple of weeks. I have stitched an autumn exchange piece that I can't reveal yet. Now that I have finished it I will go back to my mystery sampler. When I went to my EGA meeting last week I got to see 2 of our members progress and I am anxious to get mine finished.
Things have been busy here. I try not to over commit but my schedule seems to not let up. I think that I probably need to learn to cut back on some of my social stuff.
Here are some of the things that I have been up to. Last weekend was the Tar Heel Mini Rally. It was a rainy day. Rich and I drove up to Dobson, NC to Shelton Vineyards to take part.

The vineyard was so beautiful. It was too bad that it was a drizzly wet day.

Are these cakes amazing? DH had an allergic reaction to something Saturday night. I think the cake may have been to blame. The boy was all broken out in hives! Tomorrow he has an appointment with the allergist.

DH and I spent some time packing yesterday since our HI trip is coming up. I am looking forward to the down time. I need to decide what stitching to take with me.
Well I should get to some stuff around the house. I hope to have some stitching to show later.

Have a peaceful Sunday!

Monday Mail

Hello Friends!
I hope that Monday has treated you well. The weekend went so fast. DH and I both worked some of it so that made things go fast. Yesterday was spent remembering September 11th. It is very hard for me to watch any of the programs on the attack.
Last week I posted a pay it forward giveaway for the red house small by EEF and I am pleased to announce that DH pulled Faye's name out of the hat. Faye, please shoot me an email with your snail mail address unit so that I can mail the chart to you.
Not much stitching has been happening. I am working on my fall exchange piece. I have been searching for some sweet Halloween things to tuck into the package. I have not had good luck finding anything in my town. I am hoping to turn up some things in Greensboro. I think a Target crawl is in order.
I stopped by the post office today and was rewarded with the following...

Again, I have arrived a little late to this party but I am anxious to work with these beautiful colors. First I need to finish the exchange and finish my mystery sampler.
Well I need to put some stitches in.

Hugs

Fall Colors

I hope that everyone is having a great week.
This time of year I am just dreaming of cool crisp nights and clear days. It is still going to be in the mid to upper 80's here the next few days. Ugh.
So the only fall colors that I am seeing are these...

I am stitching a small for a fall exchange. I need to get it started .
DH is very busy at work this week and will be working all weekend and I will be at both jobs today and I am going to work Sunday. So that leaves Saturday for errands and things around the house and stitching.
Last night after work I met a friend and we walked downtown and had dinner and sat outside and talked. It was a nice evening.

Here is something I saw during the walk. Can you see the praying mantis at the bottom?
Well I need to go hop in the shower! Have a great Friday!

Weekend

Hello Blog Buddies!
Thanks for all your comments on my last post. I am sorry that I haven't had a chance to reply to those comments.
The week has been busy. I found out that on Thursday a friends mother unexpectedly passed away. Rich and I went to the visitation last night. I was so glad that we were able go.
My DH went by the local needlework store and picked this up for me...

I really got put out of my misery early this year. I can't remember the ornament issue ever being out this early. There are definitely some in here that I want to stitch. I still need to work on those kits that I still have from that exchange I used to be in. If they started it up again I would be in! It was a lot o fun.
I did sign up for the stitched with love fall exchange. I think Lainey has done a great job organizing this. Now I have to decide what to stitch. I looked through some of my charts yesterday for inspiration. I need to get started. I found another duplicate chart so check back tomorrow for a pay it forward post.

Here is some progress on my mystery sampler.
That's about it from here. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend. If you have the day off tomorrow have a safe wonderful day.

Hugs
