Sunday's Adventures

Rich and I slept late on Sunday. The bed in our Aloft hotel room is pretty comfortable.
We started our day with lunch an some softserve ice cream at this little dairy bar. I had plain vanilla.

Then it was back to Dinosaur Land since it was right down the road. Rich and I paid the $5 each to go in. There were families with little kids running around. So cute. I think that this place is such a throwback to the 50's and
60's that we had to pay or money and go in again so that we can support it.

Then it was off to the Virginia State Arboretum. They have a beautiful nature trail that goes through meadow and woodland areas.

After our day's adventures we grabbed some dinner and spent a quiet night watching bad movies in the hotel room.I stitched!

I hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day. Remember friends and family that are no longer with us. Remember those who served to give us the freedoms we have.

Saturday Road Trip

Saturday Rich and I visited the Shenandoah Valley Museum and Glen Burnie house in Winchester, VA.

The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens.

They are getting ready to do major renovation on the house to
install fire suppression systems and AC so it was fortunate that we timed our visit right.

After that Rich and I checked in to our hotel. I made a deal with Bill Shatner on Priceline and the room is at Aloft. This is a fairly new chain in the Sheraton group so I was interested to see what it was like.

The style makes me think of Ikea.
The bed is pretty comfy.
I would probably stay at this chain again.

Rich and I had a nice dinner at the Olive Garden. We usually never go there because the wait is too long.

Today we may go for a hike. Whatever it is we are together so it will be great.

I am hoping for some progress on SG.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday filled with family and friends.

Pay It Forward

Happy Saturday!
Here are a couple of small charts that I have stitched up recently.
They are looking for a good home. If you would like to stitch them please comment on this post and I will pass them on. If you would like one or both let me know. If more than one person requests the chart(s), I will do the name drawing thing!

I have been having trouble commenting on other blogs. Blogger has been acting weird all week! There have been some great inspiring posts this week!

That's it for now....

Floss!!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments on Strawberry Garden. I have not stitched since Sunday but hopefully will tomorrow.

This evening I spent inventorying my Gentle Art Sampler and Weeks Dye Works floss. I put an app that I found on my iPhone. The few times that I have gone to a needlework store in the last couple of years I have ended up just buying charts. I really haven't had a good handle on what floss I have at home a didn't want to buy more duplicates. So, most of the charts have not been kitted up or anything. Do you kit things up immediately? Do you just add charts to your stash? What tools do you use to organize you supplies?

The other app I found was a fabric size calculator. You put in the stitch count and wa-la. Sounds like I am ready to shop! Good thing there isn't an LNS nearby.

Well off to bed!
Sweet dreams!

EGA Thursday

Hello friends!
Tonight was my EGA chapters monthly meeting. The baskets for the opportunity raffle for the regional seminar were ready to go. I am sure that you all remember my whining about stitching because I have to. Here is the beautiful set. There is an amazing stitcher named Donna who put everything together.

Amazing right.

That's it for tonight :)

Another Week

Not much news or stitching this week. Here is my current pic of strawberry garden by BBD. I managed to get a few stitches in today.
This up coming week I have to work one night and EGA is another night.
Rich and I are still having lots of cell phone issues. There is a lot of frustration over the whole thing.
On Friday night Rich and I saw the Bridesmaids. It was pretty funny. During the week we also watched Winter's Bone which was excellent.
It has been pretty rainy this week. It is good for the flowers. Right now the peonies are blooming.

They are one of my favorites.
The temps have been pretty good. I hate having to turn the AC on early.
I hope that everyone has a great week and that I will make some stitching progress!

Where did the week go?

Hello Friends.
This past week seemed to fly by. It seems that every night something was going on. Monday night I sat down to stitch and could not find my scissors. I didn't hide them well enough and the cats took off with them.the scissors did turn up on Tuesday. So today is the first day that I have actually put some stitches in.
Rich and I went to see Water For Elephants Tuesday night. It followed the book pretty well. Last night we saw Fast Five. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I had the urge to do a lot of shifting and to drive fast only way home. Lol.
Wednesday night Rich and I spent 2 hours at the verizon store trying to get him a new phone. His totally died on Monday. The thing was only 10 years old. Of course they didn't have the phone he wanted in stock so it had to be ordered so we made an appt. To go back today so that they could set up the phone and reconfigure our account but the phone didn't come in. So Rich still doesn't have a phone and we will have to go spend more time there. Ugh!

I pulled this out of my stitching basket where it has been languishing for years. This is Strawberry Garden by BBD. I am hoping to do some stitching tonight.

Binx is getting big and is wild. I am hoping that they will calm down a little.

I hope that everyone had a great week. I have had a few minutes to read some of the other blogs and everyone's stitching continues to inspire me even if I haven't had the chance to leave a comment.

Happy Saturday!

Bucket List

Do you have a stitching bucket list? Maybe it has Loara Standish, Dutch Beauty or And They Sinned?
Here are some of mine
-a Marsh School Sampler, maybe Elizabeth Hudson
-a Connecticut Sampler- maybe one from Norwich
-an Adam & Eve Sampler( I have a kit from Charleston)
-Finish my Bristol Orphanage sampler
I am sure there are others...What is on your list??

Here is an item that was my list. I have never been to a drive in movie. We took care of that this weekend while we were in SC.

This little theater was $5 a person to get in. They had a concession stand that served hamburgers, hot dogs, and salads and other snacks. For the $5 you could see 3 movies. There were a lot of families. We saw the first movie Hop. It was cute and the picture was much better than I thought it would be. We would have watched the second movie but we were both tired. If this theater were in my town I would probably be there every other week.

I hope that everyone had the chance to do something new and exciting this weekend! Rich and I had a great time at the rally with friends.

Here is the Brittercup finish.

Now to get ready for Monday!
